Why chosen
He connects the button billions of people tap every day with the founders and designers building for the agent era. After studying music composition and multimedia design at Duke, he joined Facebook in 2005 as its second product designer, spending six years shaping Notes, Video, Groups, Messenger and the 2009 News Feed redesign that introduced the Like button. In 2012 he joined Dropbox and became Head of Design, growing the team from three designers to nearly 40 and helping bring Mailbox and Readmill into the company. From 2014 to 2017 he advised Figma and backed it early, then co-founded the design-led seed fund Combine in 2016 and went on to angel-invest in Vercel, Framer, Cursor and Delphi. Today he hosts First of Kind, the design-and-technology series that launched Season 3 in October 2026 with Vercel founder Guillermo Rauch on the agentic web. One thumb up, then the whole frontier.
